The method to roll a cap gun capThis is the most straightforward method and it works pretty well for pistol cartridges which make use of fast burning powder. The primers created using this method may not be enough energetic to provide stable ignition of slower burning rifle powders. Marshall lists the top cap pistol caps. He details the procedure for recharging the primer cups. He diagrams how to recharge the primers by using caps. You can make several primers per minute with some practice. These primers are extremely corrosive. Marshall's son-in law recently conducted a test on 50 cartridges of 9mm. Three years ago, the cartridges were loaded with cap gun roll caps primers. They functioned just like normal cartridges that were reloaded. They could fire and feed with no issues. The strike-anywhere, match head method (detailed in TM-31-210) While it is more powerful than primers, it's more difficult to apply. Each primer takes between 5 and 10 minutes to finish. These primers are harmful to the environment. Replicate the priming chemicals employed by the U.S. Army before, during, and after WWI These priming compounds are very energetic, very stable, and have a long shelf duration. They can be very corrosive. They aren't difficult to create, as they require just 3-4 components (there are minor variations). For safety reasons for safety, the components are dry mixed in small amounts of less than 2 grams. The primer mix is moistened when it is placed into the primer cup. Next, the anvil must be installed. This method produces primers that can be compared to commercial primers in terms of quality and shelf-life. The careful production of primers can be done at the rate of almost one a minute. The U.S. Army compound chemicals are made up of potassium chlorate (KClO3) and antimony sulfur (commonly called stibnite or Sb2S3).
